Before the ball drops, the glitter rains, the corks pop, and the kisses are stolen I have to reflect on 2011. The year flew by like they all seem to do but not without granting me opportunities and blessings.
December : I will be the first to admit that I am easily overwhelmed by the stress and hustle & bustle of Christmas. Despite my many complaints the Christmas holidays were as beautiful as always.
November: Was full of Nuptials and New Beginnings.
October: For the first time in a long time (possibly ever) I did not celebrate Halloween; in the traditional sense at least.
September: was “Bacheloretting” and attending the 2011 Excellence in Journalism Conference in New Orleans.
August: I spent time with as many of my loves as I possibly could before the semester started.
I celebrated my Birthday. Simple. Family. Falling asleep to meteor showers and waking up to pancakes and mimosas.
July: 4th of July was a True Blue Louisiana Summer Holiday in the sweltering heat; that never seems to slows us down.
May and June: The time of year I feel the most alive; celebrations of all things Summer Time.
April: Long Live Lady GaGa
March: I walked for the cure; as I will continue to do until there are more birthdays and less tears.
(Early) March: I spent Mardi Gras at a Ball on the Bayou; it doesn’t get more Louisiana than that!
February: I walked for another cause close to my heart. The Children’s Shelter of Acadiana; King Cake 5K.
January: New Year’s Eve 2011 was intimate and chic. Looking back I can say without hesitation that it set the tone for the year.
