Last week...
Perfect Sunday
Zen
Getting pampered while drinking endless cups of coffee.
My gypsy heart is nothing new.
All nighters are much easier with the right red.
As far as I am concerned this is the only time of the year.
It had been far too long since I traveled this road.

Some Girls Won’t Dance to the Beat of the Track

My friends and I…well, we are getting older.  A common denominator amongst most of us is that we have ignored timelines and occasionally taken the long way.  Rules and social norms are frequently disregarded, but desires and whims are abided by.  We make mistakes and memories simultaneously.  We don day-glow wigs and dance until morning, because we know that it is better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.

My Regal Robes of the Forest, Would be Satin, not Cotton, not Chintz.

These have been plastered all over campus and I think they are brilliant.  It made me realize; whatever it is that we want is ours for the taking.  The path from our dreams to their materialization is never easy, it has no short cuts and detours are detrimental.  These lovelies offer the opportunity, to for once in life, take whatever it is that we need and slip it in our back pocket.

Fear is useless.  There is no such thing as to much courage.

Land of Opulence

Mardi Gras, I hate to see you leave, but love to watch you walk away! Recovering from the “Float Flu”, as we have begun affectionately calling the illness that WILL befall you the Wednesday after Mardi Gras, is nothing to scoff at.  The season was a filled with  as much debauchery as I had hoped.  Until next year, I will have daily reminders of how lucky I am to live in a state where Costume Jewelry hangs from trees and power lines.

Carnival

Last weekend I traveled south to indulge in a New Orleans backyard BBQ and some Mardi Gras madness. Laughter and Loved Ones.  Burgers and Beer.  Red Wine and King Cake.  Vodka Drinks and Thunder Storms.  Beautiful People and Birthday Wishes.  Krewe du Vieux; the parade infamous for its… *cough* naughty themes, provided our nighttime entertainment as we sauntered in and out of Irish Pubs and Local Haunts.

The next morning these were the contents of my purse....it must be Mardi Gras

Here’s to Luck and Here’s to Love

Life has been hectic lately so I have been grasping at anything to enhance Positive Energy.  These items are currently topping my Wish List.
Snake Cuff
“Snake energy is the energy of wholeness, cosmic consciousness, and the ability to experience anything willingly and without resistance.  It is the knowledge that all things are equal in creation.”

Evil Eye Bracelet
"The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it."

Delicate Silver Rings
Simple & Clean

This one has been done to death but I still want it so that when times get crazy I will have a daily reminder that you have to go Through it in order for it to be Behind you.

In Black and White

My life at the current moment consists of two main themes: Reading and Writing.  There is rarely a portion of my day that does not require me to be doing one of the two and even when I am not reading or writing I am envisioning whatever it is I am doing as a print concept.  It’s ironic that constantly staring at Black and White pages could give one’s life such Vivid Color.

Before I die...

I am completely infatuated with this Art Installation.  Urban Art and Graffiti are two of my favorite mediums for expression and this one just so happens to be in New Orleans.  It is displayed on the side of an abandoned home; neighborhood residents write what they hope to accomplish before they die.  The New Year is the perfect time to execute Dreams and Wishes.  I have yet to decide exactly what it is that I want from 2012 but I do know that so far I am in love with the Year’s energy.
