I Am Thankful That Thorns Have Roses

An “I’m Thankful For….” Post must be done.

I am thankful that my Best Friend’s wedding was exactly what she wanted; a perfectly elegant, glamorous, and borderline royal affair (post about the beauty of that evening coming soon, it requires pictures).
I am thankful for my ever growing family; related by blood or love I can no longer distinguish.

I am thankful for my mantra “Opportunity, Wisdom and Success” and the lack of sleep that accompanies it.
I am thankful for coffee and suitcases that are packed more often than they are unpacked.
Hotel Windows....
...And Lattes

I am thankful for the random moments in life that break up the monotony and allow you to realize the crazy, beautiful roller-coaster ride you are on.

Baby Kangaroo in a downtown sushi restaurant…who knew they loved denim so much?
I am thankful for all of it, all of you and so much more.

“She Wants Free Booze, No Rules, and You”

Inside of me there is a Drag-Queen who is strung out on glitter.  My current social calendar (babies and weddings) has not given her any stage time.  When she finally gets the chance to come out and play…you will stand baffled in her wake surrounded by a trail of sequins and glitter; the air will smell of gypsy perfume and Jack Daniels.  You won’t know what has hit you but you will love it.

Game Changer

All babies do not look the same.  All babies are not ugly.  Babies do not look as much like aliens as I once thought.  She is perfect.  I don’t know who is luckier; her for having so any people who love her or us for getting to love her.

Mirror in the Sky

The wedding I attended last weekend was nothing short of magical.  It was held in an open air café that was both rustic and elegant. The setting sun and the thousands of candles sprinkled thoughtfully throughout the night drenched the space in a luminous glow.  The music was spirit freeing and whimsical including Landslide by Fleetwood Mac and Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles.

As the evening's end drew near the Bride and Groom made their exit accompanied by fireworks and guest drank champagne out of the bottle and danced on chairs.  The next morning I awoke to a purse full of roses and sparklers; which will serve as souvenirs from a dream.
This dress is a repeat offender and an old favorite.
Shes a Wild Magnolia yall!

Come with me and I’ll show you the sea.

"The voice of the sea is seductive; never ceasing, whispering, clamoring, murmuring, inviting the soul to wander for a spell in the abysses of solitude; to lose itself in mazes of inward contemplation.
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace."

As an English minor, Louisiana native, and Literature junkie I have read Kate Chopin’s novel The Awakening more times than I care to admit.  I have highlighted or underlined these words in every copy I have ever read.
